Who Can Apply?

Transcript or an official letter of completion from a college or university for a program in French.


Minimum Work Experience Required:

Entry-level (Cashier, Food Counter Attendant): 2–3 months (no work experience required if you are inside Canada).

Supervisor (Retail/Food Service): 7 months–1 year.


Fee:

Our professional fee to process your application starts from Canadian $3,500.

This fee will be applicable in two stages after we confirm that you meet the minimum eligibility criteria and you decide to proceed.

A service agreement will be signed between you and our licensed immigration consultant also known as an Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).


Additional Notes:

Strong interest in retail/food service preferred.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of English language is a must have requirement.

Job opportunities exist mainly in rural/remote regions of Canada (except Quebec) - must be willing to work in such a work setting.

You will not be able to bring your spouse on an open work permit since these are not managerial or professional jobs, however, they can apply separately if they meet the same requirements.

Previous relevant work experience must be verifiable through bank statements showing salary credits from employer and a work experience letter containing job duties that substantially match the job duties and lead statement mentioned on Job Bank website.

What is the Francophone Mobility Worker Program?

The Francophone Mobility Worker Program encourages francophone workers to settle in Canada but outside the province of Quebec. It is not a permanent residence program like the Express Entry French Category Program or the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot Program – the two permanent residence programs specifically targeting Francophones. However, through the Francophone Mobility Worker Program, you may be able to bridge the gap by gaining work experience required for the Express Entry French Category Program or Francophone Community Immigration Pilot Program.


The Francophone Mobility Worker Program makes it easier for the Canadian employers to fill labour gaps by hiring workers without going through the complex, costly and time-consuming Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application process. 

What are the requirements of the Francophone Mobility Worker Program?

The Francophone Mobility Worker Program has the below requirements:


1.  an offer of employment number generated through the Employer Portal our firm will work with the employer on this.


2.  job offer and employment contract our firm will work with the employer and you on this part.


3.  if applicable, proof of relevant skills and work experience to the job being offered which can be proven through work experience letter, bank statements showing salary credits, pay stubs or pay slips, income tax filed, relevant qualifications and certifications, etc. - you may be required to provide this to us once we start working on your application.


4.  minimum score of CLB or NCLC 5 is required in French in speaking and listening which can be proven through the following:

a.  TCF (Test de connaissance du français) minimum score in Listening: 369-397 and Speaking: 6

b.  TEF (Test d’évaluation de français) minimum score in Listening: 352-392 and Speaking: 387-421

c.  a written confirmation from a college or university in a program completed in French (such as an official letter of completion or academic transcript)

We cannot assist you if you do not meet the French language requirements. You need to provide us with one of the above-mentioned French language documents.

Are there any conditions on the Francophone Mobility Work Permit?

Yes, the program issues a closed work permit, which means that you can only work for the employer supporting you with the job offer in that specific job at that specific location. However, by gaining work experience, you may be able to switch to a higher-level position or change to another relevant job profile.


Once you get permanent residency in Canada, you can work anywhere and with anyone.

Can I bring my spouse and/or children along through the Francophone Mobility Worker Program?

Immigration, Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC) policy allows the spouse to come along on an open work permit only if the principal applicant coming on the Francophone Mobility Work Permit is either on a TEER 0 (managerial) or TEER 1 (professional) position or select TEER 2 or 3 positions. The spousal open work permit allows for the spouse to work with any employer, in any position and anywhere inside Canada.

The children can join along either on a visitor visa (if the children are not of school going age yet) or a study permit if they are of school going age. The school going children may be enrolled in a public school where they can receive free education.

However, if the principal applicant is not coming to Canada on the above-mentioned positions, the spouse is not eligible for the spousal open work permit. As most of our positions available with us are generally TEER 2, 3, 4 and 5, your spouse cannot join you on an open work permit. If required, we can assist you in finding a separate job for the spouse so that they can also come along as long as they also meet the requirements for the Francophone Mobility Worker Program, but it may be a bit challenging to find a job in the same city or town for the spouse.

How can you support me in the Francophone Mobility Worker Program?

We have employers who are looking for workers in the retail and hospitality sectors. At this stage, the positions available with us are - cashier, gas station attendant, food counter attendant, meat cutter, cook, baker, retail store supervisor and food service supervisor. As these are low to medium level skilled positions, employers are looking for workers who are younger (preferably under 35 years of age), mobile, healthy and single since their spouses cannot join them on an open work permit. Moreover, the younger you are, the more chances for you to get permanent residency in Canada. We wish you to get permanent residency after gaining Canadian work experience.

Another reason for attracting younger workers is that they have a higher chance of getting permanent residency through the main program for permanent residence – Express Entry. The older the worker, the lesser the chances of them transitioning to permanent residency and they may remain stuck in Canada as a worker.

How can I verify that you are a legitimate service provider?

Only the consultants who are issued licenses by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) or lawyers can provide immigration services. My license details can be verified on the CICC website. You can review my license status on the CICC website using my license number or College ID number: R705435.

Am I required to be fluent in English?

French is mainly spoken in Quebec and in a few small communities in other provinces. Everywhere else, English is the main spoken language. The employers in our network speak English language only and neither we nor the employers speak French. The language at work location will be English. Therefore, you need to be fluent in English. If the employer is not able to communicate with you effectively in English, the employer will not be able to offer you the job opportunity. Apply with us only if you are comfortable and fluent in English.

What kind of support can I expect from your employers?

The employers will support with the job offer and provide you with a full-time job. The job offer will be created through the IRCC portal. Without this job offer, the Francophone Mobility Work Permit application cannot be submitted.


You will have to bear the cost of the air fare to Canada and for your accommodation in Canada. However, the employer may support you with temporary accommodation when you come to Canada and find your own accommodation.

What is the location of the jobs?

The jobs are mostly located in rural Canada in small towns with smaller populations compared to big cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, etc. The job opportunities will be outside Quebec. Quebec is the only fully French speaking province, but the Francophone Mobility Worker Program is meant to attract French-speaking workforce outside the province of Quebec. You may not find any Francophone population in these areas or people from your culture and faith. Knowledge of French language is required only for the purpose of the work permit application. Therefore, apply with us only if you are prepared to work in such a setting.

What wage rate will be offered?

The employers usually offer at least the minimum wage rate prescribed by the government as available on Job Bank for the given position in the specific economic region. In general, the wage rate starts from $15-$20/hour depending on the province and the job. You will be required to work at least 30-40 hours per week at least.

Is the wage rate being offered good enough?

As these are mostly starting level to mid-level positions, the salary should be good enough to meet your basic expenses. Since you will be working in comparatively smaller towns, your cost of living will also be low, which works in your favour.

You may be on an exceptionally good profile or respectable job in your home country, therefore consider these positions as per your comfort level. Remember that these jobs are for employers to fill their staffing needs and may provide you with a gateway to permanent residency status in Canada. Do your research in terms of how much wage rate will suffice your needs and apply only if you are prepared to work in such jobs. However, depending on your performance, the employer may give you promotions or increase your wage rate.

What kind of job opportunities can I get?

As mentioned above, the job opportunities available are - cashier, gas station attendant, food counter attendant, meat cutter, cook, baker, retail store supervisor and food service supervisor. For some positions, such as retail store supervisor or food service supervisor, previous relevant work experience is required. If you do not have relevant experience, the employer will support you with cashier or food counter attendant positions to start with and later, depending on your performance, may promote you to supervisory roles.


For TEER 4 or 5 level positions like cashier, gas station attendant or food counter attendant, you cannot claim points for work experience in your Express Entry application. However, you can claim points for positions like cook, meat cutter, retail store supervisor or food service supervisor.


For food related positions, you may have to deal with various kinds of meats – so you must be comfortable with the requirements of the position. Apply with us only if you are interested in these positions.


If you are not interested in these positions, you may still apply and when ever we find the right opportunities for you, we will let you know.

Who is an ideal applicant for these jobs?

The ideal applicant for the employers will be someone who is:

-  Less than 35 years old and in a fit condition to perform at the job.

-  Have retail or hospitality work experience and prepared to perform in these roles.

-  Is prepared to live in rural Canada.

-  Can easily converse in the English language and can take instructions from the employer.

-  Is hard working with professional ethics and someone who is dependable.

-  Someone who is proactive and takes initiatives.

-  Someone who is flexible at the workplace.

Is there any minimum term of the job contract?

It will take the employer at least 2-4 months to train you. Therefore, the employer expects you to work with them for at least 1 to 2 years or until the time you get your permanent residency. You will be on a closed work permit and can only work for the employer supporting you with the job offer. If required, depending on your performance, the employer may support for work permit extension.

What will be the process after submitting my application for these positions?

1.  Your resume and TCF/TEF/French qualification documents will be reviewed.

2.  If you meet the minimum French language proficiency requirements, we will send you a link to book a free appointment with us.

3.  At the time of our appointment, your English language skills will be tested and confirm your agreement for the positions available.

4.  If we find your English language skills to be good enough, we will arrange an interview with the employer.

5.  If the employer likes you, the employer will offer you the job in principle.

6.  You are then required to sign a service agreement with us which will contain the terms of payments and our obligations towards each other.

7.  We take the initial 50% payment from you to start working on your application.

8.  We work together to prepare your work permit application, so your cooperation is expected.

9.  Once the application is complete, we ask you for the remaining 50% payment and then ask you to review the application and take your confirmation to submit the Francophone Work Permit application. It will take IRCC between 10 to 15 weeks to process your work permit application.

10.  Once the application is approved, you can come to Canada and start working for your employer and build your Canadian work experience.

What will be the fee structure for this application?

Our total professional service fee is $3,500 plus government fee (IRCC) $155 plus IRCC biometrics fee $85 (if you have not submitted your biometrics to IRCC in the last 10 years). Our professional service fee is taken from you in two (2) stages as per below:

1.  Once the employer confirms the job offer, we sign the service agreement and take the initial payment of $1,750. The payment can be made via Visa or MasterCard credit cards or via bank transfer.

2.  $1,750 - once the application is ready for submission.

a.  Prices are in Canadian dollars.

b.  The fee structure is non-negotiable.

c.  We do not offer contingency billing – i.e. we do not offer that you pay us only if the work permit application is approved.
